Solution and Age of Aluminium Alloys
Certain alloys of Aluminium can be strengthened by solution treating and ageing at a number of different temperatures.
Stage 1
The solution treatment is carried out normally between 450 and 575 deg c and is followed by a rapid quench normally into water.
Stage 2
This is followed by an ageing process usually carried out between 100 and 200 deg c.

We … More had a great many sixty-year-old 'atomic' style wire items (plant stands, magazine racks, fruit bowls, etc) in the full range of sizes that needed the complete blasting/coating treatment. We also had bare metal shades and bases from a dozen vintage lamps for powder coating. Keith and James at CBS didn't bat an eyelid when presented with this random collection and proceeded to make an absolutely sterling job of it all. We will be back! -
